This week I had my first interview as well as the Business Symposium which is extremely interesting as well as overwhelming. I was delighted to finally wear my suit that was sitting dust at the back of my closet. Hence, the morning of my interview I prepared my question flashcards, a folder with my resume, and my formal clothing that I would change into after school. Waiting for the end of the day was tedious- at the same time nerve-wracking. I was looking forward to this interview not only because it was my first, but also because I was excited to be able to finally meet Mr.Meek, whose LinkedIn profile had impressed me quite a lot. He did not disappoint. I gained a lot of advice, and feedback that I am going to keep in mind throughout my career, and I hope to get in touch with him soon when I have more questions.
In addition to my first interview, I also attended the Business Symposium which is probably one of the most important events in ISM. Sitting with all my peers in the auditorium of Emerson High School was giving me jitters and it felt slightly surreal. However, going on the first round of stations, I had calmed down. I think my experience at the Business Symposium was extremely fruitful because I was able to get the contacts of two more professionals I would like to interview.
Finally, next week I will have more interviews to look forward to which I am fully prepared for.
